How to compare the annual cost of electricity tariffs

The price per kilowatt-hour is only one part of an electricity tariff. Use the same annual consumption for every offer and include recurring fixed charges before deciding which estimate is lower.
Start with comparable inputs
Collect your billed consumption in kWh, the tariff rate per kWh and the monthly standing charge. Keep the calculation period consistent. If the household or heating system changed, describe that assumption instead of treating last year as an exact forecast. Enter each offer as a separate tariff in Wattlivo.
Calculate the full annual estimate
The calculation is annual kWh × price per kWh + 12 × monthly standing charge. At 3,000 kWh, €0.30/kWh and €12/month give €1,044/year. An offer at €0.28/kWh with €18/month gives €1,056/year. The lower energy rate is not the lower annual total in this example. Compare prices on the same tax basis.
Keep estimates separate from results
Check the offer for introductory discounts, contract dates and charges that the simple formula does not include. Save expiry dates and supporting documents with clear names.
